Thirty million worth of grants is being made available from next Wednesday for business and local government in the Bowen Basin.
In a whistle-stop visit to Rockhampton, Minister for Regional Development Fiona Nash said that the money was allocated as part of the Federal Government's $220 million Regional Jobs and Investment Packages (RJIP).
The RJIP allocates grants for investment in local infrastructure, business innovation and training, which is designed to help regions in Australia diversify their economies, stimulate long-term economic growth and deliver sustainable employment.
“The Bowen Basin’s Local Investment Plan will ensure that projects funded align with local Priorities,” Minister Nash said.
"This is a great opportunity for the communities of the Bowen Basin to submit applications for key projects that will boost the local economy and create jobs."
